Fabricator & Fitter
Chesapeake Shipbuilding – Salisbury, MD
DescriptionThe role involves precision cutting, assembly, and welding of metal components for cruise ship building.

- $2.00 differential for evening/night shifts
- Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
- Measure, mark, cut, and fit metal components per specification
- Fabricate and assemble structures using tools and techniques
- Perform tack welding (SMAW, MIG, TIG)
- Grind and finish products
- Adhere to safety protocols and company procedures
- Inspect work for accuracy and quality
- Performs other duties as required
- Minimum 3 years welding/fabricating experience
- Proficiency setting up SMAW, MIG, TIG equipment
- Shop and field fabrication, sequencing, fitting experience
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, templates
- Knowledge of industry codes, regulations
- Safe operation of hand and power tools
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- Vigorous physical movement, use of all extremities
- Work outdoors in heat, inclement weather, cold
- Lift up to 75 lbs, climb ladders up to 24 ft, work at heights up to 70 ft
- Work in confined spaces, open hatches, manholes
- Operate around water bodies
- Wear heavy protective gear
- Normal visual acuity, hearing, hand-eye coordination
- Monday–Friday
- Day Shift: 6:00 am – 2:30 pm
- Evening Shift: 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm
- Overtime and weekend work may be required
