Salary: $44,040 / yr – $47,671 / yr.

• Operate a Class 5A wastewater treatment plant, including monitoring control panels, adjusting valves, and operating pumps and motors to regulate flow.
• Monitor operating conditions, interpret meter and gauge readings, conduct laboratory tests, and adjust equipment to optimize treatment performance.
• Maintain operation logs, record meter and gauge readings, and collect process samples.
• Flush equipment and clean process areas, ensuring safety rules and process instructions are followed.
• Notify supervisor of equipment malfunctions and process issues and provide direction to resolve problems.
• Safely operate heavy vehicles, tools, and equipment and follow written and oral instructions.
• Communicate effectively with staff and the public, maintaining professional relationships.
• Apply company policies and procedures, and represent the City of Salisbury to the public.
• Participate in professional development to maintain credentials and stay current on new processes and equipment.
• Demonstrate strong organizational, time‑management, and confidentiality practices.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license.
• One year experience in wastewater treatment or equivalent training, education, or experience.
• Temporary Class 5A wastewater treatment operator license.

Work requires considerable physical effort (e.g., lifting, standing for extended periods).
