Delaware Elevator, headquartered in Salisbury, MD, offers a Federally Approved Apprenticeship Program to train the next generation of Elevator Mechanics and Service Technicians. If you are mechanically inclined, motivated to learn, and eager to take on new challenges, this program provides a pathway to grow with an industry leader. Apprentices work across Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida, gaining hands-on training and real-world knowledge from experienced professionals.
AboutThe Program
Our program combines hands-on, on-the-job training with a web-based Learning Management System (LMS) and study materials to provide a comprehensive pathway to success. You ll work one on one with licensed elevator mechanics and technicians, gaining the knowledge, skills, and experience needed to become a certified professional in the field.
Essential Functions- Assist a licensed elevator mechanic in installation, modernization, service, or maintenance of elevators, escalators, and moving walkways.
- Learn to assemble, install, repair, and maintain electric and hydraulic freight or passenger elevators and related equipment.
- Maintain and submit weekly on-the-job training sheets, signed and approved by your supervising mechanic.
- Stay actively engaged in related instruction, following the program s schedule and guidelines.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, policies, and procedures as directed by your supervisor and Delaware Elevator professionals.
- Age Requirement:
Must be at least 18 years old. - Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. - Skills:
Mechanically inclined, with experience using basic and power tools. - Physical Requirements:
Fit-for-duty, comfortable with heights, and able to perform physically demanding tasks such as climbing, lifting, and standing for extended periods. - Travel:
Ability to travel out of town as needed, with some overnight stays. A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required. - Must successfully pass drug screenings, background checks, and skill assessments. Security clearance for certain jobsites may also be required.
