The City of Salisbury is seeking highly motivated applicants who want to enter the challenging field of law enforcement to fill non‑supervisory officer positions in the Police Department.
Responsibilities- Enforce North Carolina General Statutes.
- Work closely with neighborhood groups.
- Prepare and present court testimony.
- Write clear and concise incident reports.

Qualifications- Minimum 20 years of age.
- U.S. citizen.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid NC driver's license.
- No felony convictions.
- No convictions of DUI, DWI, or certain misdemeanors within the last 5 years.
- BLET certification required; out‑of‑state certifications may transfer to NC.
- Adhere to an on‑call rotation that requires responding after hours when needed.
- Undergo a thorough background investigation, psychological evaluation, polygraph examination, physical fitness test, and medical examination including drug screening.
- Submit to the standard 발표 City and Police Department hiring process, including the Criminal Investigation Division selection procedure.
- Eligible for retiree health insurance coverage for lateral/sworn officers with law enforcement experience before January 1, 2012.
