The City of Salisbury is seeking highly motivated applicants who want to enter the challenging field of law enforcement to fill non‑supervisory officer positions in the Police Department.

• Enforce North Carolina General Statutes.
• Work closely with neighborhood groups.
• Prepare and present court testimony.
• Write clear and concise incident reports.

• Minimum 20 years of age.
• U.S. citizen.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid NC driver's license.
• No felony convictions.
• No convictions of DUI, DWI, or certain misdemeanors within the last 5 years.
• BLET certification required; out‑of‑state certifications may transfer to NC.
• Adhere to an on‑call rotation that requires responding after hours when needed.
• Undergo a thorough background investigation, psychological evaluation, polygraph examination, physical fitness test, and medical examination including drug screening.
• Submit to the standard 발표 City and Police Department hiring process, including the Criminal Investigation Division selection procedure.
• Eligible for retiree health insurance coverage for lateral/sworn officers with law enforcement experience before January 1, 2012.
