Summary:

The Endoscopy Technician’s number one job responsibility is to deliver the most remarkable patient experience, in every dimension, every time, and understand how he or she contributes to excellent patient care. The Endoscopy Technician is responsible for assisting with patient care under the direction and supervision of a nurse.

Qualifications: The following qualifications are the minimum necessary to adequately perform this job. However, any equivalent combination of experience and education and training which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities would be acceptable, subject to any legal and/or regulatory requirements.

Education: Must have one of the following:

• Graduate of Surgical Technology program or military equivalent
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program
• Register as a Certified Nursing Assistant II with the NC Board of Nursing

Candidates hired with Endoscopy or Surgical Assisting experience only must obtain one of the above credentials within six months of hire.

• Current B MO certification

Work Experience: Previous endoscopy technician experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs and is able to modify patient care accordingly Auctions.

Physical Requirements: Good physical and mental fitness to meet the demand of job duties. Requires constant standing and walking, finger dexterity to handle and manipulate endoscopy equipment. Breast may require lifting or moving up to 50 lbs. Practices good body mechanics. Supports and a cooperative attitude is essential. Job duties may lead to exposure to blood borne pathogens and hazardous chemicals.
