Guest Service Representative
Join Paragon Hotel Company. Increase guest satisfaction by providing efficient and courteous guest service in accordance with hotel standards. This role is essential to the hotel’s operational success and revenue growth.
Responsibilities- Increase guest satisfaction by providing efficient and courteous guest service in accordance with hotel standards.
- Execute selling strategies to enhance hotel revenue.
- Understand and implement the mission statement, values and culture of the hotel.
- Greet and register guests, provide room assignments, maintain privacy and accommodate special requests.
- Promote and sell hotel services and amenities to guests.
- Promote repeat business through future reservations and recommendations.
- Keep housekeeping and other departments informed of special requests, late check‑outs, and special needs.
- Check all credit card validity before shift end.
- Learn and use the property management system (PMS).
- Ensure all cash, check and other departments are balanced at shift end.
- Maintain a clean, professional lobby, dining area and other spaces relevant to guest satisfaction.
- Practice safety standards, report hazards and hazardous conditions.
- Utilize the Service Recovery Log and other logs for communication shifts.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- 1+ year of customer service experience at a branded hotel preferred.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Professional, with strong honesty and trustworthiness.
- Excellent attendance record and punctual. Work Environment &
- Stand, lift, bend, learn, read, concentrate, think and communicate.
- Stand for eight hours and perform bending, stretching and reaching.
- Work schedule varies; may include holidays, weekends and evenings; long hours sometimes required.
- Push or pull 60 pounds and lift or carry 30 pounds.
- Knowledgeable about the entire property, staff services, hours of operation, room types, rates and discounts.
- Knowledge of frequent stay program, reservation procedures, cancellations and “walking” guests.
- Phone etiquette and answering procedures.
- Answer inquiries about local shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions.
- Daily operations, bulletin checks, and being up to date on changes.
- Prepare to perform Manager on Duty functions as scheduled.
- Computer literate; operate PMS to post charges, compute bills, collect payments and make change.
- Multi‑task, detail oriented and service‑centric.
- Communicate with guests, coworkers, and in written messages.
- Manage time effectively.
- Assist with guest issues professionally and hospitable.
