CCBII Technician I – New York Air Brake
Skilled assembly of various pneumatic and mechanical valves, electrical and electronic boards, and components. Use hand and power tools, electrical test racks, fixtures, work instructions, assembly drawings, and test equipment. Follow detailed work instructions and perform operations to correctly assemble and test valves and components.
Essential Functions- Follow detailed assembly instructions, processes, and procedures.
- Identify and troubleshoot failures, take corrective actions.
- Report quality, safety, process, equipment, and material issues to the Production Supervisor or Team Lead.
- Provide hands‑on training to coworkers as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist and train others.
- Understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health, Safety, Environmental, and Energy policies.
- Understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
- Follow the Integrated Management System policies, procedures, and instructions.
- Support and understand relevant key performance indicators as defined in the goal tree.
- Be a team player and engage with others.
- Technical Capacity – Ability to read and comprehend written procedures and assembly blueprints.
- Computer access – Ability to access drawings, procedures, and record information via computer.
- Mechanical skills – Good mechanical aptitude.
- Electrical assembly – Ability to assemble/build electrical/electronic components.
- Lean manufacturing tools – Familiarity is a plus.
- Safety – Understand safety policies and rules.
- Communication – Good communication skills to interface with employees, production supervisor, and leadership team.
- Organization – Strong organizational skills.
- Time Management – Ability to manage time effectively.
- Dependable and reliable.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work EnvironmentThe employee will be exposed to shop‑floor conditions such as noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt, etc. Standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, handling objects, and reaching with hands and arms are required regularly.
Physical DemandsThe employee must, at regular intervals, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds and can operate lift assist equipment to move assemblies.
RequiredEducation and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- One to two years of related manufacturing experience (preferred).
