American Traveler is hiring a RN
- Med/Surg Tele with 2+ years of experience for a 16-week night shift contract requiring strong med-surg floating ability.

• Med-Surg/Telemetry unit with 36 beds and a 1:6 patient ratio
• Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts (6:45pm-7:15am), 3x per week
• 16-week contract
• Every other weekend required
• Must be willing to float to all areas holding med-surg patients
• Uses Epic and Pyxis systems
• 24-hour unit orientation

• Active RN license (NC or Compact)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med-Surg/Telemetry experience required
• Certifications required: BLS, NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: OCN, Chemo Administration
• Required skills:
  
  dysrhythmia interpretation, Rapid Response/Code team use, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care/management, IV starts and maintenance
• Required respiratory skills: nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management
• Required skills:
  
  isolation precautions/PPE
• Epic charting experience required
• Strong med-surg background required for floating
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required (pending acceptable at submission)

• Provide care for med-surg/telemetry patients, including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Navy scrubs required, not provided by facility
• First-time travelers welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted within 50 miles at a reduced rate
• Previous Novant Health or New Hanover employees (perm/PRN/EP) must wait 12 months before reapplying as a traveler, with facility approval required
• Current travel per diem clinicians must choose between travel or per diem status
• Up to 7 days RTO can be auto-approved if not falling on a holiday; no RTO during first week of assignment
• Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays
• Travel pairs allowed if on different units and disclosed, each must have own transportation
