PREP COOK (FULL TIME AND PART TIME) – Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services

Location:

Catawba College – 2300 West Innes Street, Salisbury, North Carolina 28144.

Schedule:

Full‑time and part‑time; days and hours may vary. Primarily PM shifts with some weekend coverage required.

Pay Range: $14.00 – $16.00 per hour.

Prepares food and serves customers in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.

• Obtain daily production schedule and preparation requirements from the Chef.
• Prepare items on production sheets following established quantities and recipes.
• Complete and follow daily production worksheets and waste log sheets. Taste completed meals to ensure quality.
• Operate and clean equipment per department procedures after each use.
• Store, label, and date all food items according to policy. Follow HACCP guidelines.
• Complete all required documentation, reports, and logs as required.
• Comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
• Take orders from customers and prepare items requiring short preparation time.
• Serve customers in an efficient and friendly manner.
• Complete orders from steam tables and grill and serve customers at multiple stations.
• Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures, and standard portion control.
• Resolve customer concerns.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

One year of prior culinary experience is required.
