Catawba College – 2300 West Innes Street, Salisbury, North Carolina 28144. Online applications only. - Schedule:
Full time and part time; days and hours may vary. Weekend and PM shifts. Details provided during interview. - Pay Range: $12.00 – $17.00 per hour.

Maintains dishes, pots, pans, trays, kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in orderly and sanitary condition.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Scrape and rinse food from dirty dishes and wash them by hand or using a dishwashing machine as directed. Ensure complete cleanliness and sanitation.
- Wash pots, pans, and trays based on assigned procedures. Ensure complete cleanliness and sanitation.
- Polish silverware using burnishing machine, tumbler, chemical dip, buffing wheel, and hand cloth as assigned. Ensure complete cleanliness and sanitation.
- Maintain compliance with outlined safety procedures.
- Monitor temperatures and chemical levels as standardized.
- Keep dish area orderly and in compliance with safety standards.
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors to maintain safety and sanitation standards.
- Clean worktables, walls, refrigerator, and other food prep surfaces.
- Remove trash and place it in designated containers; steam clean or hose out garbage cans.
- Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
- Assist with loading and unloading supplies and product.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Because this position requires service in an educational facility, there may be periods when work is not required (e.g., winter and summer breaks). Such periods may be unpaid and considered temporary layoff. Work year‑round may be required at a different location during break periods as business needs vary.
