The Opportunity Nigel Wright are delighted to be partnering with a well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice in the North West to recruit a Senior Accountant.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified accountant to join a collaborative and growing firm, working with a varied portfolio of clients and gaining exposure across accounts, tax, and audit.

The Role Reporting into senior leadership, you will take ownership of a portfolio of clients while supporting wider team delivery across accounting, tax and audit engagements.

Key responsibilities include:

Preparing year-end statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies Preparing and submitting VAT returns accurately and in line with deadlines Completing personal tax returns (SA100) and calculating client liabilities Producing corporation tax computations and CT600 returns Acting as a key point of contact for clients, managing queries and gathering required financial information Supporting audit assignments, including fieldwork and assisting senior team members Maintaining accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping records using cloud-based accounting systems Identifying potential tax and accounting planning opportunities and escalating where appropriate Supporting and mentoring junior team members, contributing to a positive and collaborative team environment

The Person We are keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:

Experience with in an accountancy practice environment Strong technical knowledge across accounts, tax and ideally audit ACA/ACCA qualified or part-qualified (or equivalent) Experience managing client relationships and handling queries independently Proficiency with cloud accounting software and Excel Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines across multiple clients A proactive approach, with a desire to develop and progress Salary & Benefits Competitive salary (dependent on experience) Hybrid Working Study support (where applicable) Pension and holiday entitlement Ongoing professional development
