Role Overview

Proactive and safety‑focused Permit Control Coordinator to play a key role in the safe and efficient delivery of works across the Dstl Estate. Act as the central point of control for contractor management and the permit‑to‑work process, ensuring all contractors, suppliers and project teams meet required standards before work begins on site.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the central point of control for contractor management and the permit‑to‑work process.
  • Coordinate end‑to‑end permit process, ensuring all required documentation, certifications, training records and approvals are in place.
  • Review contractor submissions, verify compliance and provide final assurance before permits are authorised.
  • Maintain accurate records of permits, approvals and contractor documentation; oversee sign‑in/sign‑out processes and manage work control forms.
  • Support supervision of permit administration activities, monitor compliance, and elevate safety concerns or documentation issues.
  • Assist with scheduling appointments, responding to contractor and stakeholder enquiries, and producing reports.
Qualifications
  • Highly organised, detail‑oriented, and capable of working in a fast‑paced operational environment.
  • Excellent administrative and coordination skills; ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy.
  • Strong communicator, comfortable engaging with contractors, project teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Proactive, solution‑focused, with a commitment to safety and governance.
  • Experience coordinating processes, maintaining records, and using administrative systems.
  • Preferable experience in facilities management, construction, engineering, defence or other regulated environments.
  • Ability to obtain Security Clearance (SC) and be a UK National.
