Residential Children’s Home Deputy Manager – Salisbury
Join Five Rivers and take on a key role as Deputy Manager in our residential children’s services in Salisbury. Homes range from 1‑bed to 6‑bed properties and care for children aged 6–12.
OverviewAs Deputy Manager you support the Registered Manager in day‑to‑day operations, develop Residential Child Care Workers, and promote a culture of respect, listening and child‑centred decision making.
Responsibilities- Support the Registered Manager in running the home and ensuring compliance with Ofsted and legislative frameworks.
- Lead and develop a team of Residential Child Care Workers in trauma‑informed practice.
- Build rapport and empathy with young people, supporting those with adverse childhood experiences.
- Fulfil administrative duties 20 % of your time, including sleep‑in shifts with additional pay.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous improvement of the service.
- Minimum 2 years experience as Deputy Manager in a Children’s Residential Setting.
- Level 5 in Leadership and Management (or willingness to progress toward it).
- Level 3 in Children and Young People’s Workforce desirable.
- Track record with Ofsted and knowledge of legislative framework.
- Valid UK driving licence essential.
Average 39 hours a week on a rota basis. Work 80 % with young people and 20 % on administration. Sleep‑in shifts are required and paid £50 per shift.
