Are you an experienced and committed Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding new opportunity? We are seeking a dedicated professional to join a specialist educational setting this September, supporting pupils with a range of complex needs.

This full-time role offers the chance to work within a highly supportive and well-resourced environment, providing both educational and therapeutic support to pupils aged 4 to 19 with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Pupils have a primary diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

You will play an essential role in helping pupils to access learning, develop their independence, and build confidence in a safe and nurturing setting. Working closely with teachers, therapists and wider school staff, you will deliver targeted support tailored to each pupil’s needs, and play a key part in promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.

This school benefits from a range of specialist facilities designed to enrich learning and support holistic development. These include a science laboratory, food technology room, construction workshop, computer suites, a theatre room, sensory spaces, therapy rooms, as well as indoor and outdoor play areas, a trim trail and a multi-use games area.

We are looking for someone who:

Has proven experience supporting children or young people with ASC and/or SEMH

Is knowledgeable in therapeutic and inclusive approaches to education

Builds strong, respectful relationships with pupils, staff and families

Is patient, reflective and adaptable in challenging situations

Has excellent communication skills and thrives in a team-focused environment

Holds relevant qualifications or training (e.g., CACHE Level 3, Team Teach, PECS, Makaton) – desirable but not essential

In return, you’ll be part of a forward-thinking team committed to professional growth and making a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable young people. Regular training and development opportunities are provided to ensure you feel confident and supported in your role.

If you are ready to bring your experience, empathy and enthusiasm to a role that changes lives, we would love to hear from you.
