Specialist Learning Support Teacher

The Salisbury team is looking for a Specialist Learning Support Teacher.

In this position, you will be responsible to:

• assist and support individual pupils on the SEND register by planning and preparing lessons, assessing pupil progress, and next step.
• support students on the SEND register as required, including those with EHCPs.

• Have extensive experience working with children with Down Syndrome.
• Have experience working with children in Key Stage 2.
• Have experience working with children with communication and interaction difficulties.
• Be fluent in Makaton or sign-a-long.
• Have knowledge of effective strategies which aid children with communication and interaction difficulties.
• Have knowledge and understanding of the different social, cultural and physical needs of pupils.
• Have an interest in how children learn and behave.
• Provide appropriate role models of behaviour both in the classroom and around school.
• Care about children, but particularly those who find learning and managing their behaviour difficult.
