Location: Central Salisbury
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2026
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

A welcoming and supportive primary school in Central Salisbury is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team on a full-time basis from September 2026
.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HLTA or an experienced Teaching Assistant ready to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school, with a particular focus on Key Stage 2.

The Role

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Deliver planned lessons and cover classes in the absence of the class teacher.
  • Support teaching and learning across Key Stage 2.
  • Work closely with class teachers to plan and deliver engaging learning experiences.
  • Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups to help pupils achieve their full potential.
  • Contribute to assessment, pupil progress, and classroom organisation.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
  • Holds a recognised HLTA qualification or has relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Has previous experience working within a primary school setting.
  • Has experience supporting or working within Key Stage 2.
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Is adaptable, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Is passionate about supporting children's learning and development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
