Join Wiltshire College & University Centre as a Work Based Learning (WBL) English & Maths Lecturer and play a vital role in supporting apprentices and work-based learners to achieve their Functional Skills English and Maths qualifications. You'll help learners overcome barriers, build confidence, and develop the essential literacy and numeracy skills that underpin successful careers.

Whether you're an experienced English and Maths lecturer, a Functional Skills specialist, or a professional looking to move into teaching, this is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact. You'll work closely with apprentices, employers, and curriculum teams, delivering flexible, engaging teaching that supports learners alongside their vocational studies.

We're particularly interested in hearing from candidates with experience in Further Education (FE), apprenticeships, or work-based learning. However, if you have strong English and Maths knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping learners succeed, we'd love to hear from you.

This role supports apprentices and work-based learners across the South Wiltshire area, delivering Functional Skills English and Maths through a flexible and employer-responsive approach. Teaching may take place at employer premises, on college campuses, or online, and may involve working with learners on a one-to-one basis or in small groups. Regular travel within the region is therefore an essential requirement of the role.

What We Offer

Salary:
Unqualified Lecturer: £29,294 per year, pro rata
Qualified Lecturer: £31,885 – £40,814 per year, pro rata
(Depending on Skills, Qualifications & Experience)

Contract Type:
Permanent, Part Time 18.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

What You'll Do

* Deliver high-quality Functional Skills English and/or Maths teaching to apprentices and work-based learners.

* Plan and deliver engaging, learner-centred sessions through a variety of delivery methods, including face-to-face in the workplace, on college campuses, and online.

* Support learners with varying starting points, helping them build confidence and achieve their qualifications.

* Provide flexible, bespoke teaching and learning to meet the needs of individual learners and employers.

* Travel regularly across the South Wiltshire area to deliver teaching and support within employer settings.

* Deliver teaching in a range of formats, including one-to-one and small group sessions.

* Work collaboratively with curriculum teams, Apprenticeship Coaches and employers to ensure learners make excellent progress

* Monitor learner achievement, provide timely feedback, and maintain accurate records

* Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual learner needs and remove barriers to achievement

* Promote high standards of safeguarding, equality, diversity, inclusion, and learner wellbeing

What You'll Bring

* A relevant English and/or Maths qualification at Level 3 or above (or equivalent)
