Assistant Head; Culture & Achievement

As Assistant Head (Culture & Achievement), you will play a pivotal role in shaping a culture of high expectations, inclusion and success across the school. Working as part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will lead whole-school strategies that promote positive attitudes to learning, pupil engagement, attendance and achievement, ensuring every pupil is supported to thrive academically, socially and spiritually. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious leader who is passionate about improving outcomes and making a lasting difference to the lives of young people.

Key

Duties Include:

• Leading strategies that promote positive attitudes to learning, engagement, belonging and aspiration across the school.
• Driving improvements in pupil achievement, particularly for identified groups of learners, through effective interventions and targeted support.
• Working collaboratively with pastoral, curriculum and inclusion leaders to remove barriers to learning and secure improved outcomes for all pupils.
• Promoting high standards of behaviour, attendance and conduct, ensuring pupils are supported to achieve their full potential.
• Supporting the development of inclusive practices that enable all learners to flourish, including vulnerable and disadvantaged pupils.
• Contributing to whole-school improvement planning, self-evaluation and quality assurance activities.
• Using attendance, behaviour and achievement data to identify priorities and evaluate the impact of school improvement initiatives.
• Working closely with families, governors and external agencies to support pupil success and wellbeing.
• Promoting and upholding a strong culture of safeguarding throughout the school community. A successful and inspirational leader with experience of improving outcomes for pupils.
• A commitment to upholding and promoting the Catholic ethos and values of the school.
• The ability to motivate, inspire and support both staff and pupils to achieve excellence.
• Strong leadership, strategic planning and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships across the school community.
• Experience of leading school improvement initiatives and using data to inform decision-making.
• A strong understanding of inclusion, SEND, attendance, behaviour and pupil engagement strategies.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
