Principal Data Engineer - Leeds (Hybrid) Are you a data leader who wants to shape the future of a modern cloud data platform? We're looking for a Principal Data Engineer to drive technical direction, uplift engineering standards, and deliver high-quality Azure data solutions that make a real impact.
The Role Build and deliver secure, scalable data pipelines using Azure (ADF, Databricks, Lakehouse). Lead engineering standards and mentor senior engineers. Turn complex requirements into automated, efficient data solutions. Influence platform strategy, remove blockers, and ensure strong governance. Optimise cloud costs through Fin Ops practices. Identify opportunities to integrate AI/ML into data workflows. What You'll Bring Extensive experience building data engineering solutions on Azure.
Strong hands-on skills in ADF, Databricks, Python, T-SQL and PySpark. Proven leadership and mentoring experience. Solid understanding of data governance and security tooling (Purview / Unity Catalog). Bonus: experience with CI/CD, automation, containerisation or Azure certifications. Why Apply?
