Shift: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm (with 24/7 leadership responsibility across days and nights)

Job Role of the Engineering Manager

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineering Manager or Engineering Shift Lead to join a well-established and growing food manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a market-leading bakery manufacturer with over 180 years of heritage, supplying major UK food service and retail customers.

You will be responsible for leading and developing a multiskilled engineering team, driving reliability, improving asset performance, and ensuring engineering excellence across a fast-paced manufacturing site.

Sector – Food Manufacturing / FMCG

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Engineering Manager

· Proven experience leading or supervising engineering teams within manufacturing.

· Strong hands-on engineering background within a fast-paced industrial environment.

· NVQ Level 3 in Engineering minimum.

Requirements for the Engineering Manager

· Experience managing planned and reactive maintenance activities.

· Strong understanding of PPM systems and engineering compliance.

· Experience using CMMS systems.

· Excellent communication and leadership skills.

· Ability to analyse downtime data and drive continuous improvement.

· Manufacturing background essential.

Desirable Requirements for the Engineering Manager

· HNC/HND in Engineering or Leadership.

· Food manufacturing or FMCG experience.

· Continuous improvement knowledge.

· Experience with automation systems and small projects.
