This is an opportunity for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join the engineering team at Gresham Power Ltd. Working within our engineering team, you will take products from concept through to verification and release to production, and provide technical support to production, test and our customers.
Duties are a combination of, but not limited to;- Carry out electrical and electronic design work, including power supply design, analogue and digital circuit design and schematics
- Produce product specifications, datasheets and technical responses to customer requirements
- Define component requirements and specifications, and maintain Bills of Materials within the manufacturing system
- Produce wiring details and schedules, test procedures and work instructions
- Work to the company design control procedure, including design project plans, design reviews, verification and design reports
- Support qualification and type testing, including EMC, shock, vibration and temperature rise, and produce the associated reports
- Support customer acceptance tests and produce test reports
- Provide day-to-day technical support to production and test
- Process engineering changes and ECRs under the change control procedure, keeping documentation up to date
- Support obsolescence studies and produce ILS documentation, spares lists and operation and maintenance manuals
- Provide technical input into pre-sales enquiries, tendering and equipment costings
- A degree or HND in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or equivalent time-served experience, is essential
- Experience of electrical and electronic design within a product or equipment manufacturing environment is essential
- Experience of producing schematics, wiring schedules and BoMs is essential
- Experience of power supply or power conversion design is desirable
- Experience with in a Naval, Marine or Defence environment is desirable
- Familiarity with EMC, shock and vibration testing and with CE/UKCA requirements is desirable
- IT literate, ideally in Microsoft 365 applications, with experience of an ERP or manufacturing system
- Well organised, able to manage several projects at once and work to programme dates
- A good communicator, comfortable working alongside production, test and customers
- Negotiable for the right candidate
Gresham Power Ltd designs and manufactures bespoke power conversion and power distribution equipment, with a long-standing reputation in the Naval and Marine sectors. Our products are designed, built and tested in house to demanding customer and classification society standards. This is a site-based role; hybrid or working from home is not available.
