Position: Purchase Ledger / Accounts Payable Manager

Responsibilities

  • Own the AP inbox and keep invoices and expenses moving smoothly through Sage 200.
  • Prepare weekly payment proposals and process payments across Sage and online banking.
  • Chase approvals and keep the workflow efficient and on track.
  • Reconcile and manage aged creditors, supplier statements, credit cards, Equals cards, fuel cards and mileage claims.
  • Support month‑end balance sheet reconciliations and assist with audit requests.
  • Work closely with suppliers and internal teams to resolve queries quickly and professionally.
  • Collaborate across Finance – with Management Accounts, Billings, Payroll and Credit Control.
  • Assist with bank reconciliations, sales invoicing, client recharges and customer administration.
  • Provide ad‑hoc support during busy periods and help identify improvements to systems and processes.
Qualifications
  • Experienced in Accounts Payable; ideally part‑qualified in a relevant accountancy qualification.
  • Confident working independently and comfortable taking ownership.
  • Strong communication skills that build great relationships inside and outside the business.
  • Competent with finance systems – ideally Sage 200 – plus solid Excel skills (lookups, SUMIFs, Pivot Tables).
  • Open to learning new tools, including care rostering systems (Nourish/Care planner).
  • Experience in Accounts Payable.
