Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new consultant job in obstetrics and reproductive medicine due to a vacancy in the reproductive medicine consultant team. This will comprise 4 PA relating to Salisbury Fertility Centre and 1 PA NHS infertility services. We would, therefore, welcome a consultant with an interest in obstetrics, and expertise in reproductive medicine. The job will initially begin as a 7 PA job with no on‑call commitments, however in October 2026, due to a planned partial retirement, this will increase to 10 PA with a non‑resident 1:10 on‑call commitment.

Main duties of the jobSalisbury is proudly home to an excellent fertility & reproductive centre, with on‑site IVF facilities.
The post holder will manage fertility clinics in secondary and tertiary care settings, manage assisted conception treatments and will be expected to perform procedures such as egg retrievals, embryo transfers and ultrasound scanning.
The post will have an appropriate share of infertility and obstetric activity (labour ward, antenatal clinic, and theatre sessions). This will include travel for an all‑day clinic in Poole once a month. From October 2026 the non‑resident on‑call commitment will be 1:10 – weekday on‑calls with a requirement to be on site until 7 pm and weekend on‑calls (Friday afternoon until Monday morning) with a requirement for two on‑site ward rounds per day.

- Possession, or within 6 months of possession, of a CCT in O & G leading to entry onto the GMC Specialist Register.
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practice.
- Completion of ATSM module in subfertility and reproductive health and a relevant second ATSM or equivalent.
- Evidence of wide experience and a high level of competence in Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Fertility.
- Appropriate knowledge base and ability to apply sound clinical judgement to problems: demonstrates clear, logical thinking/analytical approach.
- Completion of British Fertility Society modules in Assisted Conception Treatment, Embryo Transfer and USS modules.
