Job Summary
Band 6/7 Rotational Pharmacist progression post. Currently a trainee pharmacist or a pharmacist wanting to move into the hospital sector? Kick start your hospital career by joining us in Salisbury! We currently have both permanent and fixed term roles available to start in August 2026.
We are committed to developing our staff and offer support to complete the post graduate clinical diploma and independent prescribing courses. We offer monthly one to one meetings and developmental ward visits to ensure you receive consistent support in your progression. Opportunities to develop your professional and clinical skills will allow progression to a band 7 position upon completion of key objectives.
We offer a highly regarded rotational programme which includes rotations through admissions, medicine, surgery and family services (paediatrics and maternity).
Our band 7 role offers opportunities for further development of your leadership and clinical skills including opportunities for involvement in clinical trials, mentoring and supervising trainee and foundation pharmacists, development of specialist areas and independent prescribing.
Main Duties of the JobWe are a friendly and supportive pharmacy team focused on delivering the best and safest possible front line clinical pharmacy service to our patients. The pharmacists we are looking for will be dedicated, hardworking with great communication and organisational skills. They will be committed to their own professional development and have a drive to continually improve the service we provide to our patients.
You will be part of our established rotational training programme, which is aimed at helping you develop your core foundation skills in a variety of clinical settings.
Our service is open 7 days a week and our current opening hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am-5pm (with no late night rota), Saturday 8.30am-1pm and Sunday 9.30am-1pm. Weekend shifts are 1 in 8 with one bank holiday per year. You will be part of our highly regarded on‑call team, covering 1 in 10 shifts.

- Registration as a pharmacist with General Pharmaceutical Council
- Degree in Pharmacy (Masters Level or equivalent)
- Experience of working with patients within a hospital, GP practice or community setting
- Excellent written communication skills
- Able to utilise and apply theoretical knowledge practically in the workplace
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Member of Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS)
- Experience of working in NHS Hospital as a trainee pharmacist or undergraduate
- Able to demonstrate leadership skills
- Independent prescribing qualification desired
