Job Overview
Pulse is currently seeking an experienced Band 8c Aseptic Pharmacist to join a specialist pharmacy team in Salisbury. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly experienced pharmacist with a strong aseptic services background to take on a senior leadership role within a well-established Technical Services department.
The successful candidate will act as Deputy Accountable Pharmacist for Aseptic Services supporting the delivery and governance of aseptic production services including parenteral nutrition (PN) CIVAS and cytotoxic preparations. The role also includes providing expert advice to clinicians and senior managers supporting quality assurance and risk management activities and deputising for the Aseptic Services Accountable Pharmacist when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day management and provision of Technical Services including:
- Parenteral Nutrition (PN)
- Centralised Intravenous Additive Services (CIVAS)
- Cytotoxic preparation services
- Act as Deputy Accountable Pharmacist for Aseptic Services
- Provide professional leadership and supervision across all sections of the Aseptic Unit
- Deliver expert advice on aseptic preparation stability and compatibility data facilities management and risk management
- Support the evaluation of quality and performance indicators environmental monitoring programmes and service audits
- Ensure compliance with GMP standards regulatory requirements and local policies
- Provide specialist clinical pharmacy support to cancer services on a rotational basis
- Support the nutritional team as required
- Deputise for the Aseptic Services Accountable Pharmacist undertaking managerial responsibilities during periods of absence
Qualifications and Experience
- Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Significant current experience working as a pharmacist within aseptic services
- Extensive knowledge of aseptic preparation quality assurance and risk management
- Experience with in Technical Services including PN CIVAS and cytotoxic services
- Strong understanding of GMP and aseptic governance frameworks
- Experience supporting environmental monitoring audit and quality improvement activities
- Excellent communication leadership and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively with senior clinicians managers and multidisciplinary teams
