We have an incredible opportunity for a High Intensity CBT Therapist to join our Hidden Wounds Service at Help for Heroes and play a vital role in supporting veterans and their families to live well after service.
About the RoleThe Hidden Wounds Service is a growing, multi-disciplinary, evidence-based psychological therapy service working with veterans, their families and loved ones experiencing a range of common mental health difficulties. The service has recently been accredited by the Royal College of Psychiatrists QNVMHS, reflecting our commitment to high-quality, clinically robust care.
As a High Intensity CBT Therapist, you will provide psychological assessment and treatment to beneficiaries with a broad range of presentations, working both independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team. You will also offer advice, consultation and guidance to colleagues and other professionals involved in a beneficiary’s care, as clinically appropriate.
You’ll receive regular clinical supervision from an accredited CBT therapist / supervisor, alongside peer support and reflective practice forums. The Hidden Wounds Service is primarily remote and includes PWPs, accredited counsellors and accredited CBT therapists, creating a supportive environment where clinicians can continue to develop their skills and expertise.
In addition to clinical work, you’ll contribute to service development, clinical audit and evaluation, and may support training or consultation activities within the wider organisation. Therapists also co-deliver psycho educational online courses in partnership with the Help for Heroes Recovery College, with the opportunity to work towards a City & Guilds qualification to support this delivery.
Staff wellbeing is central to our culture. You’ll work a 35-hour week, with flexibility built into the role to support a healthy work–life balance.
