As a Senior Welder Fabricator
, your TIG and MIG skills on thin-gauge aluminium, mild steel and stainless steel will be genuinely relied on.
You’ll be trusted to get on with the work, solve practical problems and produce accurate, tidy results to a high standard.

As a Senior Welder Fabricator, you will benefit from:

Working within an established automotive engineering business

Training available in CAD, 3D printing, laser cutting and laser engraving
A well-equipped workshop, including presses up to 100 tonnes, guillotines and folders
The chance to suggest and shape improvements to jigs, fixtures and fabrication methods

As a Senior Welder Fabricator, your responsibilities will include:

Carry out TIG and MIG welding on aluminium, mild steel and stainless steel
Fabricate thin-gauge parts and assemblies (down to 0.9 mm) from sheet, tube, bar and section
Produce one-off parts, proto@types and production parts from drawings, sketches, samples or verbal instructions
Make jigs, fixtures and workshop aids to support fabrication and small-batch production
Cut, form, fit, weld and finish parts to the required dimensions, fit and appearance
Check your own work and keep the fabrication area clean, safe and organised

As a Senior Welder Fabricator, your experience will include:

Previous experience as a Welder Fabricator in an engineering or manufacturing environment
Strong TIG and MIG welding on aluminium, mild steel and stainless steel, with brazing desirable
Confidence working with thin-gauge material and reading technical drawings
Good general fabrication skills using presses, guillotines, folders, saws, grinders and drills
Basic manual turning and milling would be useful
Experience in sheet metal or press work, and an interest in automotive engineering
, would be advantageous
