We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Avon Lodge Vets on a full-time basis.

Avon Lodge Veterinary Group is a long-established yet progressive practice based in the cathedral city of Salisbury also close to surrounding countryside and an hour away from the Jurassic coast. We also benefit from excellent links to London.

You will be joining a friendly established nursing team working alongside a Director of Practice and Clinical Services, 5 Veterinary Surgeons, Head Nurse, Deputy Head Nurse, 4 Registered Nurses and 1 Student Nurse dealing with a varied and interesting caseload. We have a well equipped surgery offering digital x-ray, in house laboratory, ultrasound, endoscopy, k laser and cryopen.

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

• 40 hours per week
• 5 days a week Monday to Friday, 8 hour shifts typically worked between 7:15am - 7:00pm
• 1 in 4 Saturdays, working 8:00am-1:00pm
• No out of hours

• Deliver high standards of nursing care across a varied first opinion caseload
• Support surgical procedures, including anaesthesia monitoring and theatre nursing
• Run nurse clinics and contribute to preventative healthcare and client education
• Provide excellent inpatient care and support patient recovery

We’re looking for a confident and motivated Registered Veterinary Nurse who enjoys working as part of a team and delivering high standards of care. You’ll bring:

• Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
• Experience working in clinical practice, with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively
• A proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
