Poultry Vaccination Technician

Overview

Poultry Vaccination Technicians-9 role s position supports the vaccination crew and the overall farm operations with focus on animal care and welfare of the birds.

• Work with day old chicks
• Collect birds for moving, weighing, and vaccinations
• Must be able to work with live animals and the associated environment
• Collect blood samples, band or tag birds or remove tags as needed
• Follow Animal Care Standards, Animal Welfare Guidelines, and Bio-Security policies and procedures
• Ability to work with chemicals such as detergents, disinfectants, etc.
• Perform essential duties in a safe and efficient manner as trained
• Able to be around farm-related smells or odors and a loud/noisy environment
• May work up to 6 days a week, including weekends and holidays
• Animal husbandry experience preferred but not required

• Ability to understand oral and written instructions and perform simple tasks
• Ability to perform work that is repetitive in nature
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to grip, grasp, or twist using hands and wrists
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 lbs
• Bend and stoop throughout the shift
