Position Summary
We are seeking a Casual Rehabilitation Services Clerk at Shuswap Lake General Hospital in Salmon Arm, BC.
Work Schedule- Days of work:
Rotating, Days, Monday to Friday - Shift times: 09:00 to 15:30

Responsibilities- Scheduling, booking and communicating appointment information to staff, patients, physicians' offices and/or nursing units;
- Obtaining medical information required from patients and completing a variety of standard forms;
- Reception duties – answering telephones, receiving and relaying messages, receiving and directing visitors, distributing incoming and outgoing mail;
- Posting billing information, receiving and recording payments, issuing change and receipts, and preparing/submitting cost estimates for various paying agencies;
- Data entry functions for a variety of clinical registries and databases;
- Maintaining timekeeping records for staff and submitting to payroll;
- Typing technical and non‑technical material such as correspondence, reports, letters, pamphlets, posters, manuals, memos from handwritten drafts or dictating machines;
- Record management duties related to clinical activities;
- Requisition s, receiving and storing stationery and supplies;
- Arranging meetings – booking meeting rooms, typing and distributing agendas, transcribing minutes and notes of meetings and disseminating;
- Composing and signing general correspondence such as appointment confirmations, information requests and form letters; distributing correspondence as required.
- Grade 12;
- Two years recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience;
- Proof of completion of a Medical Terminology Course;
- Completion of a Typing Test at 45 wpm dated within the past 48 months and must be issued from a valid institution.
- Valid 5‑minute typing test of 45 wpm taken within the past 48 months from an accredited institution;
- Proof of completion of a Medical Terminology Course;
- Your resume indicating two years recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience;
- A cover letter stating your availability to start in a new position and on‑call, casual work (i.e., days of the week).
