Part Time Recreation Assistant

Become a part time Recreation Assistant with the Shuswap Recreation Society at the SASCU Recreation Centre. Help deliver programs and engage youth through various recreational activities.

In this role, you will report to the Aquatics and Programming Manager and assist in planning recreational courses and special events. Key tasks include managing the reception area, setting up program spaces, and teaching leadership skills to youth, such as the Red Cross Babysitters course. This position requires flexibility as you will work weekends and evenings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage reception area at the recreation center

• Plan and implement engaging program activities

• Set up and dismantle program spaces effectively

• Teach youth leadership courses like Safe at Home

Requirements:

• Flexible availability for weekends and evenings

• First aid certification is mandatory

• Minimum of two years experience with children

• Training in Early Childhood Education is an asset

Support youth development and recreational activities as a key member of the Shuswap Recreation Society.
