Temporary Learning Resource Teacher Shuswap

Become a crucial support at Shuswap Middle School as a Temporary Learning Resource Teacher from September 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027. Focus on special education and student assessment while collaborating with staff and families.

The role requires a Master’s degree or equivalent in Special Education and a valid BC teaching certificate. Ideal candidates will have advanced assessment skills, including administering and reporting on Level B assessments. Experience in developing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans will be essential for successfully meeting students' diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage case files and detailed record keeping

• Conduct diagnostic assessments for student planning

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on student support

• Support classroom students directly when possible

• Supervise Certified Education Assistants along with the Principal

Requirements:

• Master’s degree or certificate in Special Education

• BC teaching certificate with ongoing membership

• Experience with IEPs and behaviour support plans

• Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills

• Knowledge of current inclusive practices
