Learning Resource Teacher at Shuswap Middle School

Be a catalyst for student success as a Learning Resource Teacher at Shuswap Middle School during a temporary contract from September 2026 to June 2027. This role emphasizes collaboration and effective intervention.

Candidates must hold a Master’s degree or Diploma in Special Education alongside a valid BC teaching certificate. The ideal applicant will bring experience in assessment, classroom management, and supporting students with disabilities. You will be pivotal in creating and executing Individual Education Plans while actively collaborating with teachers and support staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain comprehensive student case files

• Design and implement Individual Education Plans and behaviour support strategies

• Engage in collaborative planning with a multi-disciplinary team

• Provide direct in-class support for students and teachers

• Direct and support Certified Education Assistants to optimize student learning

Requirements:

• Master’s degree or Diploma in Special Education

• Valid BC teaching certificate

• Working experience with diverse student populations

• Strong skills in communication and teamwork

• Familiarity with inclusive education practices
