Late French Immersion Teacher Needed

Shuswap Middle School seeks a dedicated Late French Immersion Grade 7 Teacher for a temporary position from September 1, 2026, to January 11, 2027. Ideal candidates will integrate French language and culture in engaging lessons.

This temporary assignment requires a strong educator who is fluent in both French and English, with a Bachelor of Arts or Education. You will demonstrate effective language instruction in a Grade 7 immersion setting while utilizing current instructional practices. Successfully fostering a supportive environment for students and parents is critical.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging French immersion lessons for Grade 7 students

• Integrate francophone culture in classroom activities

• Collaborate effectively with the French immersion team

• Employ diverse teaching strategies and assessment methods

• Facilitate communication with an involved parent community

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree with a French Immersion major

• Valid BC teaching certificate and membership

• Proven success in middle school teaching

• Bilingual in French and English
