Registered Nurse (RN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Medical‑Surgical Unit | Salmon Arm, BC SummaryWe are seeking dedicated and skilled Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our Medical‑Surgical team in Salmon Arm, British Columbia. In this role, you will provide direct patient care to individuals recovering from surgery, acute illnesses, chronic conditions, and complex medical needs within a fast‑paced hospital environment. You will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support safe, effective, and patient‑focused care.
- Provide direct nursing care to medical‑surgical patients in accordance with scope of practice and clinical standards.
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions, vital signs, and treatment responses.
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions safely and accurately.
- Support post‑operative recovery, wound care, pain management, and discharge planning.
- Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals, and interdisciplinary care teams.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and recovery goals.
- Respond effectively to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold infection prevention, patient safety, and quality care standards.
Shifts:
Days, evenings, nights, and rotational schedules available.
Environment:
Supportive acute care hospital setting with collaborative multidisciplinary teams.
– What You’ll Bring
- Current practicing registration or eligibility with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as an RN or LPN.
- Recent experience in medical‑surgical, acute care, or hospital nursing settings preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment, patient care, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively in fast‑paced and collaborative healthcare environments.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and patient education abilities.
- Commitment to delivering safe, compassionate, and culturally sensitive care.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
