We are seeking an entry level Accounting Clerk to join our small but dynamic accounting and finance team. This role is ideal for a motivated, detail-oriented professional looking to grow in a collaborative environment where everyone contributes across the full accounting spectrum. At RCC, our accounting operations go beyond standard bookkeeping. Our global project work introduces unique payroll structures by project, multi-currency payments, and contractor invoicing.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Accounting Clerk is a vital member of the finance team, responsible for ensuring accuracy and efficiency in daily accounting operations. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a passion for maintaining orderly financial records. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of basic accounting principles, is comfortable using accounting software, and demonstrates strong time management to meet deadlines.

Success in this role also depends on effective communication, the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and a commitment to continuous learning. The Accounting Clerk supports the smooth operation of the department by handling diverse tasks with reliability, integrity, and a focus on process improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Transaction Recording:
    Handling and recording transactions such as expenses, receipts, and other financial entries in the accounting system with accuracy.
  • Document Management:
    Filing and maintaining physical and digital records of financial documents to support transactions and audits.
  • Invoice Processing:
    Issuing invoices to customers and processing incoming invoices from suppliers, including verification against purchase orders.
  • Payment Management:
    Preparing checks, handling online payments, and processing direct deposits to vendors and employees.
  • Account Reconciliation:
    Reconciling bank statements and resolving discrepancies in financial accounts.
  • Assisting with Reports:
    Preparing regular financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements.
  • Supporting Accounts Payable & Receivable:
    Supporting the management of accounts payable and receivable, including collection and reminder notices.
  • Expense Verification:
    Ensuring that expense claims comply with company policies and processing them for payment.
  • Data Entry:
    Inputting financial data into internal databases and accounting software, ensuring that all information is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Administrative Support:
    Performs clerical duties such as answering phones, handling correspondence, and scheduling appointments related to the accounting function.
  • Customer Service:
    Assisting with customer inquiries related to billing and payments, providing a courteous and professional response.
  • Petty Cash Handling:
    Manages minor cash transactions and maintains accurate records for small, daily company expenses.
  • Auditing Assistance:
    Providing support during internal and external auditing processes.
