Position: Senior Accountant (cardiac medical device manufacturing)

Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant role will support both Accounting and Finance functions within enable

CV. The person selected would ideally have a combination of manufacturing and general accounting experience, including cost accounting expertise.

Responsibilities
  • Month End Close:
    Prepare monthly journal entries ie. cost accounting, sales reserves, lease accounting, and accruals. Prepare and transact consolidation entries, account reconciliations, variance explanations, and forecasts.
  • Inventory:
    Manage inventory processes, including cycle counts, reconciliations and rolling standard costs.
  • Accounts Payable:
    Pay vendors, track payments, and work closely with department leads to ensure all outstanding invoices are paid in a timely manner and properly recorded.
  • Fixed Assets:
    Manage fixed assets, including running monthly depreciation, reconciling, and ensuring proper accounting for new asset purchases.
  • Business Reporting and Analysis:
    Assist with preparing monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements and cash flows.
  • Ad Hoc:
    Support auditor requests, Sunshine Act reporting, monitoring travel expenditures against policies, and other tasks as needed.
Education

Bachelors degree in accounting or related degree (economics, business etc) plus 3 – 5 years of progressive work experience required. Preference may be given to candidates with MBA’s or CPA’s but is not required for the role. Cost accounting experience strongly preferred.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong Excel skills and the ability to apply those skills when necessary to fill a process gap with the intent of resolving them long term.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly, ability to learn programs and systems at a rapid pace.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, you act first and ask questions later to ensure we are moving forward and things get done in a timely manner. We refine and work the kinks out later (wink wink)
  • Strong attention to detail, you do things quickly but only as quick as you can without making an error. You strive for excellence in your work and hold those around you to the same standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and solution-oriented critical thinking skills, ability to think a few steps forward, anticipate issues so that they don’t become a problem. You take ownership of your role and it’s responsibilities.
