Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant must pass a required background check through fingerprinting and enrollment in the continuous RAP Back (Record of Arrest and Prosecution Back) program in accordance with current County Human Resources policy requirements.
Job SummaryServes the voters of Salt Lake County by performing a variety of specialized clerical and computerized elections services. Provides direction, procedures, and election information to the public, government officials, candidates, and others.
Minimum Qualifications- Three (3) years of administrative support experience in a closely related field; OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, 18 years of age or older, and eligible to register to vote.
- A valid Driver’s License issued by the State of Utah is required to transport equipment and supplies between locations.
- Maintains and updates voter registration data including, but not limited to, registration forms, petitions, absentee ballot processing, provisional ballot verification and voter history.
- Assists the public, candidates, voters and others with inquiries and responds to routine election questions.
- Provides document copies and other election data requested by candidates and the public.
- Assists with the development and helps maintain current and accurate election procedures.
- Participates in election planning and problem solving activities.
- Trains and leads temporary staff.
- Performs inventory and audit tasks.
- Participates in election preparation as requested and assigned.
- Assists with and/or leads election projects.
- Assists with and/or prepares materials for election services.
- Assists with election day, early voting, equipment testing and other general information services support.

Working Conditions AndPhysical Requirements
Some walking, bending, and standing for long periods of time may be required; must be able to occasionally lift up to 35 pounds; some infield and warehouse work may be required on occasion.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THIS POSITIONMust be able to work long hours, overtime, and weekends during an election cycle.
