The Role We Want You For
The Senior Site Safety Supervisor will support project staff and the Clayco safety team in implementing corporate safety standards and procedures in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Your responsibilities include fostering a zero-injury safety culture, conducting weekly site safety inspections, onboarding new workers, reviewing subcontractor safety analyses, promoting safety initiatives, and reporting incidents. You will be a key advocate for safety, motivating workers and ensuring compliance across projects.
The Specifics of the Role
- Assist in developing the project safety program.
- Conduct jobsite orientations for new employees, record participation, and issue identification badges.
- Participate in initial project meetings to define safety roles.
- Conduct pre-task safety meetings with subcontractors.
- Manage safety on projects up to $80M.
- Interface with clients.
- Support the Site Safety Manager.
- Hold regular safety meetings with subcontractors and project staff.
- Facilitate safety training to ensure OSHA and company standards are met.
- Maintain logs of safety meetings.
- Review subcontractor safety programs for compliance.
- Ensure subcontractors have trained safety representatives.
- Conduct daily and weekly safety inspections, document violations, and enforce corrective actions.
- Report and address safety violations immediately.
- Assist in fire safety procedures.
- Investigate incidents and generate reports.
- Maintain safety records.
- Conduct monthly safety overview meetings and participate in project meetings.
- Perform other safety-related duties as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field.
- 6-12 years of safety experience, preferably in construction.
- Minimum 5 years of field safety experience.
- OSHA 30-hour construction safety certification.
- OSHA 500 Outreach Trainer certification is a plus.
- Physical ability to climb stairs, ladders, and work at heights.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Good vision and focus abilities.
- Work in moderate to loud noise levels.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
