Scholarship Position Description
This position is awarded a scholarship for Spring 2026. All scholarships are determined by position, time commitment, responsibility, and financial budget determined in April. Specific questions about scholarship amounts may be directed to Josh Petersen: joshua.petersen or Josh Petersen on Slack.
Responsibilities- Manages editing of all video projects
- Manages team of editors along with VFTU Director. Coordinates and signs editing tasks to contributors to meet deadlines, and who has time to have them done according to the set deadlines.
- Works with other leaders to set editing standards and ensure all video projects meet standards before publication
- Regularly responds to messages via Slack and Gmail
- Attends mandatory meetings
- Communicates all needs and concerns with the VFTU Director
- Trains all members on appropriate platforms
- Along with Director, holds regular meetings and check-ins with team members
- Provides critical and constructive feedback to all team members
- Collaborate and meet regularly with equivalent team leads in other Ute Cast platforms
- Previous work and/or education and training in video production. Preference given to applicants with prior experience in VFTU or Student Media.
- Experience in producing video for different audiences and settings, such as entertainment, business, and journalism.
- Understanding and working knowledge of necessary software and tools used in the video production process.
- Experience or knowledge of content distribution, particularly in the fields of video and film.
- Demonstrated leadership and/or previous management experience preferred.
- Must be enrolled student progressing satisfactorily towards a degree.
- Major or minor in film and media arts, mass communication, journalism, strategic communication, or similar preferred
