Job SummaryThe incumbent participates in the preventative dental care of patients by performing oral health assessments and charting, completing dental prophylaxis, providing oral cancer screening, applying topical fluorides, examining teeth, instructing patients on proper dental care, and performing procedures in compliance with the Utah Dental Practice Act.
This position will support school-based oral health initiatives including participating in planning and execution of dental screenings and oral health presentations at elementary and high schools.

ResponsibilitiesDemonstrated leadership, human relations, and effective communication skills. Ability to function during regularly scheduled shifts. Demonstrated ability to function calmly and competently in high‑stress situations and to deal with hazards involved in assessing and providing care to patients.
Minimum Qualifications- Completion of an approved dental hygiene program or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).
- Basic Life Support Health Care Provider card or obtained within one month of hire.
- Current license to practice as a Dental Hygienist in the State of Utah.
- Additional license requirements as determined by the hiring department.
- Immunization according to CDC standards and hospital policy (limited exemptions for documented medical contraindications or religious beliefs).
- Potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
- Local Anesthesia license preferred.
- Practice Management software experience.
- Spanish speaking preferred.
