Job Description

This position is ideal for a strong design- and technically-minded leader with broad project experience, especially in the K-12 education sector. The role requires a strategic thinker who excels in client engagement, team leadership, and technical rigor. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, mentor emerging talent, collaborate with leadership, and contribute to raising design excellence across the practice.

Responsibilities

* Lead design, technical direction, and project documentation for complex architectural work, with a strong focus on ground-up K-12 education projects.

* Guide and mentor interdisciplinary teams, elevating skills, collaboration, and overall project quality across all phases.

* Coordinate closely with clients, consultants, and internal teams to maintain clear alignment on project goals, design vision, and deliverable expectations.

* Oversee project standards, workflows, and quality assurance from concept design through construction administration.

* Participate in client-facing meetings, presentations, and stakeholder engagements, helping shape and communicate project vision and design intent.

* Support broader firmwide initiatives related to design excellence, technical standards, and best practices.

Essential Skills

* Proficiency in Revit is required.

* Experience in architectural design, construction administration, design development, and schematic design.

* Ability to create and carry architectural models in Revit for education projects from schematic design through construction administration.

* Registered architect preferred.

* Excellent verbal, visual, and written communication skills, including comfort presenting to clients and stakeholders.

* Ability to mentor others, lead teams, and uphold design and technical standards.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture is required.

* 10+ years of professional experience with demonstrated leadership across multiple project phases.

* Architectural licensure preferred but not required.

* Familiarity with additional software such as Sketch Up, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, or BIM coordination tools is a plus.

* Experience in K-12 design is strongly preferred.

* Self-directed, collaborative, and comfortable managing complex project demands with professionalism and autonomy.

Work Environment

The position involves working Monday to Friday in an office setting with some site visits. The schedule follows a 9/80 format, allowing for every other Friday off and the flexibility to adjust the schedule to coincide with holidays for a four-day weekend. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $115000.00/yr.
