Job SummaryProvides care for aquatic laboratory animals and their environment through animal husbandry and keeps records according to state, federal and university regulations. This is an entry-level position.

Responsibilities- Food preparation and feeding
- Tank cleaning
- Dish washing
- Careful adherence to research protocols
- Maintains routine record keeping of such items as environmental conditions and animals inventory
- Observes and communicates animal health conditions to lab personnel and notifies supervisor of abnormal conditions
- Distributes supplies to various research areas
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT : 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
Job Levels- Animal Care Technician, I:
Requires little to no related experience. - Animal Care Technician, II:
Requires at least 1 year of related experience. - Animal Care Technician, III:
Requires 3+ years of related experience.
