Job SummaryProvide individual and small group tutoring to students. Assist students in improving academic achievement by meeting with them on a regular basis to identify learning challenges and improving study skills.
Other assistance may include: reviewing class material, discussing the text, preparing for tests, formulating ideas for papers, and working on solutions to help improve academic skills and abilities.
Tutoring is a supplement to classroom teaching.
Responsibilities- Assist student-athletes with continued higher education skill development including the following: time management, writing, reading, organizational, communication, study, test preparation, etc
- Develop Support plans based on student needs
- Meet with students once or twice per week during designated times to create task sheets and work on skill development
- Generate weekly plans with athletes emphasizing both long-term and short-term goal setting
- Work with the mentor team to schedule subject-specific tutors if the need arises
- Generate reports following each mentor session to follow progress and accountability
- Utilize various computer programs as needed to track student progress

Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are required.
The incumbent will be required to pass a Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) Background check
