Technical Product Trainers – University of Utah
Join the University of Utah as a Technical Product Trainer to conduct face‑to‑face and/or remote training for customers and employees on product features and operation. Design and develop training programs, collaborate with training materials specialists, prepare materials and documentation, stay current on product trends, research training methodologies, explain complex information to non‑technical audiences, and communicate effectively orally and in writing. May work with vendors to adapt training software.
Job Summary
Oversee educational technology training with Utah Education Network, working with teachers, faculty, and administrators across Utah to support technology use in schools, teach online courses and virtual workshops, conduct in‑person workshops, develop presentations and courses, and promote state‑licensed educational software.
Responsibilities
- Conduct face‑to‑face and/or remote training classes on product features and operation.
- Design and develop training programs and plans.
- Collaborate with training materials specialists to keep materials current and effective.
- Prepare training materials and documentation for customers.
- Stay current on product trends within the organization and among competitors.
- Research and apply effective training methodologies, tools, and practices.
- Explain complex product information to non‑technical audiences.
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Possibly work with vendors to adapt existing training software.
- Support special projects that promote effective learning and adoption of state software products.
- Design and deliver online courses through Canvas
LMS. - Support departmental goals, including project planning, implementation, and promotion.
- Represent UEN products, resources, and professional development at conferences, seminars, and meetings.
- Build skills while working with a collaborative team.
- Travel within Utah using state vehicle and occasional out‑of‑state travel.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 4 years or Master’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience, or 1 year higher education per 1 year of work experience (equivalency statement).
Job Levels
:
Moderate skill set; developing level. Requires a bachelor’s + 4 years or master’s + 2 years.
:
Highly skilled; career level. Requires a bachelor’s + 6 years or master’s + 4 years.
Additional Information
Full‑time.
Work schedule:
Monday‑Friday, some Saturdays. Pay range: $83,000 – $100,000.
