Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Job Description

• Conduct geotechnical investigations and analysis.
• Perform boring layout for utility clearance.
• Supervise drill rigs.
• Classify soils, log boring, test pits, and cores.
• Perform floor level surveys.
• Perform testing and observation services.
• Review plans and specifications.
• Prepare geotechnical reports and letters.
• Assign and compile laboratory testing and geotechnical calculations, including calculations pertaining to shallow and deep foundation design, pavement design, retaining walls, slope stability analysis, liquefaction, and settlement.

• B.S. in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field. MS in Geotechnical Engineering Preferred.

• 2‑5 years of experience and a thorough understanding and knowledge of soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering and/or engineering geology.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, positive attitude, good organizational skills, and a strong work ethic.
• Must be able to work both independently and as a team member.
• E.I.T. preferred, or ability to obtain within one year.
