Job Description
- Conduct geotechnical investigations and analysis.
- Perform boring layout for utility clearance.
- Supervise drill rigs.
- Classify soils, log boring, test pits, and cores.
- Perform floor level surveys.
- Perform testing and observation services.
- Review plans and specifications.
- Prepare geotechnical reports and letters.
- Assign and compile laboratory testing and geotechnical calculations, including calculations pertaining to shallow and deep foundation design, pavement design, retaining walls, slope stability analysis, liquefaction, and settlement.
- B.S. in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field. MS in Geotechnical Engineering Preferred.
- 2‑5 years of experience and a thorough understanding and knowledge of soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering and/or engineering geology.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, positive attitude, good organizational skills, and a strong work ethic.
- Must be able to work both independently and as a team member.
- E.I.T. preferred, or ability to obtain within one year.
