Our Bridges and Structures Practice supports transportation projects across multiple markets, including Bridge Inspection and Preservation.
What You’ll Do- Organize information for use in project documents
- Assist or lead bridge projects by creating inspection reports, load rating summaries, concept reports, and Type, Size and Location reports
- Perform condition inspections of existing bridges and tunnels
- Generate and edit bridge inspection reports
- Develop engineering calculations using spreadsheets and various analysis/design software
- Develop engineering drawing details
- Develop engineering quantity and cost estimates
- Assist or lead development of project specifications
- Review contractor submittals during construction
- Lead bridge rehabilitation and maintenance project tasks as assigned
— Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of applicable bridge inspection, load rating, and/or design experience
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
- Successful completion of NHI 130055 Safety Inspection of In-Service bridges, or NHI-approved equivalent
- Proficiency in current bridge inspection and management software
- Experience with current bridge load rating or analysis software platforms
- Knowledge of bridge design software (e.g., SAP
2000, Midas Civil, LARSA, PG Super, Conspan, LPile) - Experience with MathCAD
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
- Knowledge of drafting software (Micro Station, AutoCAD, Civil 3D)
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and communicate effectively in a team environment
- Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
- Knowledge of state DOT bridge inspection and load rating standards
- Completed NHI 130078 Fracture Critical Inspection Techniques for Steel Bridges
- Active SPRAT Rope Access Technician certification

- Potential salary range: $105,000 - $155,000
Salary and benefits reflect applicable state and local laws. Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience and location.
