Project Environmental Geologist/Scientist/Engineer

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate field activities and subcontractors (e.g., laboratories, private locators, drillers)
  • Perform field work including Phase I ESA site visits, groundwater sampling, drilling oversight, soil logging, soil sample collection, and asbestos building inspections
  • Represent Stantec professionally while interacting with clients, property owners, subcontractors, and stakeholders on field assignments
  • Apply established practices, standards, and guidelines
  • Complete required health and safety trainings, including OSHA, and strictly adhere to health and safety policies
  • Communicate with client (under manager) determine a path forward for select sites within existing portfolios
  • Oversee field project implementation
  • Prepare technical documents and reports from start to finish, delivering a complete product for internal review
  • Interact and communicate effectively with team members
  • Maintain high standards of safety, detail, work ethic, and quality craftsmanship
  • Work outdoors for extended periods, in remote locations, and under adverse weather conditions
  • Work independently and under pressure, prioritizing and balancing heavy workloads to achieve goals
  • Exhibit excellent communication and organizational skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Hold current 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification and be capable of lifting and moving items up to 50 lbs
  • Build and maintain productive professional networking relationships within the technical team
  • Travel as required, including overnight stays, and possess a good driving record with a valid driver’s license
Education and Experience

BS in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or related Earth Sciences. Minimum 5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Typical office environment with long sedentary computer work; field work may expose you to inclement weather.

Pay

Range
  • Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD & Various CA, NJ Areas – $67,300 – $97,600 annually

In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. The final compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. Some roles are bonus‑eligible.
