Responsibilities- Design and develop commercial‑ready orthopaedic medical device systems, including implants, instruments, and non‑surgical devices.
- Use advanced knowledge of engineering and health sciences to conduct FDA QSR and ISO 13485 compliant activities.
- Ideate concepts, develop Solid Works CAD models and drawings, perform engineering analyses, and write test protocols.
- Conduct product testing, risk analyses, and benchmarking; develop cost of goods or cost of services, packaging, and container systems.
- Develop validated product reprocessing and terminal sterilization procedures, perform design reviews, support regulatory submissions, and create design history files.
- Manage and report on projects, coordinate cross‑functional teams, and contribute to an intellectual property portfolio.
- Education:
Bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 10 years OR Master’s (or equivalency) + 8 years of directly related work experience. - Expertise in FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, Solid Works CAD, risk analysis, and regulatory submissions.
- Experience in project management, resource allocation, and advanced statistical methods.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience.
- Multiple successes bringing biomedical devices, processes or systems from concept to actual use.
- Highly proficient in CAD model and drawing creation, design verification and validation, and engineering science application.
- Expertise in anatomy and physiology and multiple biomedical product/process/system areas.
- Proficient use of statistical methods, efficient management of resources, excellent project management, and contribution to intellectual property portfolios.
- Flexibility, persistence, resourcefulness, and a drive to succeed.
