Harris is seeking a highly motivated Tools & Process Systems Engineering lead to support enterprise engineering excellence across multiple programs and functional teams. This role provides critical ownership of engineering tools, processes, audits, and configuration environments. The ideal candidate will have strong systems thinking capabilities, technical depth, and demonstrated experience in supporting teams through structured quality, audit, and corrective‑action processes. This position interfaces directly with Engineering, Quality, DCMA, and cross‑sector organizations to ensure compliant execution, strong artifact governance, and continual improvement of engineering processes and digital tools.
- Administer engineering collaboration tools, repositories, and controlled‑access environments.
- Function as a CAR Subject Matter Expert supporting 8D/RCCA activities, CAB reviews, and cross‑functional corrective action efforts. Act as the primary engineering interface for DCMA on CARs and audits. Support audit readiness, auditee preparation, live audits, and post‑audit follow‑through.
- Own and maintain key engineering processes and governing documents (e.g., Tailoring Checklist, Peer Review, Test Procedure Process, Artifact Storage Matrix). Provide process mentorship across all engineering disciplines.
- Provide direction for the adoption, evaluation, and improvement of engineering tools including DOORS, Jama, QVscribe, and MBSE‑aligned platforms. Lead trade studies, assess tool fit, guide requirements management best practices, and support corporate MBSE and Digital Engineering transformation efforts.
- Support Program Process Check‑ups, partner with program engineering leads to evaluate findings, and mentor teams toward process compliance. Maintain the Multi‑Discipline CDRL process and ensure accurate, up‑to‑date documentation. Enable coordination between CS sectors on engineering process and tool topics.
- Must have the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Systems, Engineering, or related field) and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience;
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience;
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
Skills:
- Experience with engineering processes, audits, and corrective action methodologies (e.g., 8D, RCCA).
- Demonstrated ability to manage access controls, digital engineering environments, and governing document repositories.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to mentor teams, interface with internal and external auditors, and internal process owners.
- Knowledge of requirements management tools (DOORS, Jama) and engineering collaboration systems.
- Experience supporting DCMA interactions and audit responses.
- Knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles, model‑based and digital engineering tool chains.
